This is final step to earn your Scuba Certification! Students must successfully complete 4 dives over 2 days in open water.
Prerequisites: Successful completion of eLearning, Classroom Review, and Confined Water (pool) training.
Medical: Prior to taking this scuba course, you will need to complete a Liability Release and Medical Form. Please review the Medical form and determine if you are eligible to take a scuba course or if you will need a doctor to sign-off on your form prior to starting the course. This information is required to enroll or begin any diver training.
Diving Location Options: To complete your course with Nautilus Aquatics choose one of our three training options:
Option 1: Drive & Dive - Rappahannock Quarry, Fredericksburg
Join us for 2 full days at a "local" quarry that's closer to home (approximately 1.5 hours from either store).
This no frills option is the most economical but may not be suitable to all divers. Expect 10-15 ft. visibility, rocky shore access to/from water and no on-site facilities - but you can still make it home for a late dinner each night!
Option 2: Camp & Dive - Lake Phoenix Scuba Park
Join us at Lake Phoenix Scuba Park, located just outside Richmond, about 3-3.5 hours from Northern Virginia.
This is a great option to go and just focus on your scuba class. There is camping onsite, hot showers and toilets! Nearby hotels are located in Petersburg and Emporia. Student arrival and setup Friday evening or Saturday morning. Training will be conducted Saturday and Sunday.
*There are additional costs for admission, camping, hotel and meals.
Option 3: Fly & Dive
Take a trip! Join the Nautilus staff you know and love on one of our regular weekend trips to Florida or Mexico, or "dive" right in and sign up for one of our fantastic week-long dive trips to a warm and sunny destination! You'll get to complete your certification dives AND get a few extra dives under your belt under the supervision of a Nautilus Aquatics Dive Professional!
*Additional trip fees apply. See our Scuba Trips page for more details.
Note on Rental Gear: For all options your rental gear bag must be picked up in advance and transported to the dive location.
